My name is Linda Ashfield, and I am a Virtual Controller. Think of a Virtual Controller as combination of Bookkeeping + Financial Advisor + Technology. Businesses and non-profits thrive on financial data. If you assemble and report your financial data properly and in a timely manner, you maximize what the information is telling you. Companies and organizations live and die by their ability to do this effectively and efficiently. I've seen too many entities that get an "F" in financial accounting, and their performance shows for it. I want to help you maximize your organization’s potential. I will work with you personally to ensure your bookkeeping is accurate and that your important business decisions are grounded in financial reality.

A brief history: I was the CFO/COO of a $8 million business in NYC for 8 years. In 2009, I made a career move to the non-profit arena, becoming the Director of Finance and Administration for a NYC non-profit. Then In 2013, I transitioned to consulting work, continuing to assist my the organization with remote CFO services, taking on the remote controllership of technology business, and assisting a start-up non-profit with their financial set-up and serving as their Director of Finance. Now, I provide complete finance management for several clients, handling all their accounting and finance needs remotely.

I have an MBA in Accounting. While I am well-versed in several accounting platforms including Financial Edge, Clients & Profits, and Quickbooks Desktop, I have migrated all my clients to Quickbooks Online as it provides essential real-time access to financial data and works in conjunction with many apps that streamline processes and increase financial data visibility. I am a certified QBO ProAdvisor.

I am a stickler for detail and believe that is at the heart of having clean, transparent books, which are essential for the success of any business or non-profit organization.

After many years in NYC, I now live and work on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
